Sensor Switches

Our Sensor Switches are designed to meet the needs of people with
limited movement capabilities, limited strength or limited endurance. These
switches are an ideal choice for the ALS population.
They include proximity sensors with varying ranges of sensitivity and beam switches of varying size and means
of activation. The special Fiber-Optic Sensor is customized to detect purposeful
eye-blinks.
The Piezo Sensor detects the slightest of muscle movements.

Ultra Thin
Proximity Switch (PSSW-UT)

With a petite package size, this ultra-thin switch can easily fit into very small places. It can be operated by users with a light
control of their head, hands, feet, fingers or toes. A green light indicates power and a yellow light indicates
activation. Sensing range of 1/8 in.

Cylindrical Proximity Switch
(PSSW-CP)

This sensor’s cylindrical design is ideally shaped for hand, finger or toe control. A yellow light indicates activation. An
optional hand strap is available to ensure proper sensor
placement. Sensing range is adjustable from touch to 3/8 in.

Mini-Moon
Proximity Switch (PSSW-MM)

This pancake-shaped switch is especially suitable for users who need to use their head to activate a switch. It is particularly useful
for use on lap trays. With its high sensitivity and larger sensing range, this sensor switch can quickly replace other round-shaped
switches.

Adjustable

This sensor switch features adjustability in sensing range from touch to over half an inch. It can be mounted behind a panel of
wood, plastic, vinyl, foam and many more materials while still maintaining its sensitive functionality. A green light indicates power and
a yellow light indicates activation.

Non-Adjustable
Proximity Switch (PSSW-NA)

An excellent general-purpose switch, this proximity sensor is small enough to use as a head-switch and sensitive enough to
function through padded headrests and plastic trays. A red light indicates activity. The flat rectangular package has mounting holes
for easy installation.

Reflective Beam

This sensor switch is well suited for users with poor control of their movements. It can be mounted on a chest plate to detect up
and down head motion. Any motion into the beam will activate the switch. A red light indicates activity. Mounting hardware is
included.

Flat Mini-Beam Switch

This is the smallest and flattest sensor in the series. Its large sensing range and small size makes it suitable for a range of
applications. A green light indicates power and a yellow light indicates
activation.

Fiber-Optic
Eye-Blink Switch (PSSW-EB)

This switch works best when eye-blinking is the only movement the user is able to perform. The sensor is capable of
discriminating between random eye-blinks and purposeful controlled eye-blinks. A head strap is included and the device can also be used
with other body parts in fiber-optic mode.

This device can easily be activated with the smallest of muscle movements, such as the raise of an eyebrow or the clenching of a
jaw. The sensor can also be activated by a temperature change caused by breath or touch. An adjustable sensitivity control enables
the sensor to discriminate between random movements and purposeful ones while still detecting the slightest movement. An
adjustable delay allows the user the needed time to prepare for their next action. This round touch sensor comes with mounting
straps.
